College Sport
Key Contacts

All colleges are keen to offer their students a wide range of opportunities to participate in sport and physical activity. They welcome the opportunity to work with key partners in order to make the offer as diverse and far reaching as possible.

Colleges are encouraged to provide a sporting and physical activity offer for all students across the wide range of college courses. This offer can include:

  • Enrichment activities (extra-curricular sporting opportunities)
  • Inter and intra college competition
  • Leadership and volunteering opportunities
  • Developing local community links between the college, schools and local clubs to encourage continued participation and/or leadership exit routes

The majority of East Midlands Colleges also deliver sports courses as part of their curriculum offer. To fulfil assessment criteria, students are often required to organise events and coach or lead sessions. These can take place within the college or local community and provide another opportunity for key partners to support young leaders and sports participation in FE.

If you would like to engage with the East Midlands Further Education Sports sector and support member colleges in the delivery of sporting opportunities for 16-19 year olds please see the college contacts here
