Developing a college wide strategic plan for sport
Why Attend?
From 2012 onwards, government policy for sport is focussed on youth participation, in order to create a legacy from the 2012 Games, to increase the number of people adopting sporting lifestyles and to address issues relating to poor health through inactivity.
With increasing recognition of the contribution of FE and Sixth Form Colleges to providing opportunities for young people, Sport England, National Governing Bodies of Sport and many other organisations will be looking to invest in the FE sector to meet their objectives.
The Association of Colleges is keen to help Colleges take advantage of this potential investment and increased interest in the sector. One of the key aims of the AoC’s national strategy “Growing Sport, Growing Colleges” is to assist individual Colleges plan effectively for their sporting and physical activity offer.
