You should aim to eat no more than 2000 kcal (adult female) and 2500kcal (adult male) per day which should be obtained from a balanced diet including plenty of starchy foods, at least 5 fruit and veg a day, and plenty of water. You should also aim to cut down on the amount of fat, sugar and salt you eat.
